Huang Ju Meets with Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan
Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Huang Ju who was on a formal visit to Turkey met with Turkey Prime Minister Erdogan on November 18, 2004.
Huang Ju said that Your Excellency's successful visit to China last year vigorously promots the development of friendly cooperation between the two countries. We appreciate the Turkish government's adherence to the one-China policy, support for China's reunification cause, understanding and support for China's righteous cause in maintaining national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said that it is in the basic interests of the two countries and beneficial to world peace and development for China and Turkey to strengthen friendly cooperative relations as both countries have significant influence in the international community. Both sides should maintain consultations and dialogue and strengthen coordination in bilateral and international affairs, expand economic and trade relations and cooperate in project contract and investment, promote exchanges in sectors including tourism, the media, culture and education and enhance friendship between the two peoples.
Erdogan said that Turkey and China have conducted close exchanges in all areas, facilitating the development of each other. Turkey pays high attention to the relations with China, hopes both countries will maintain the momentum of exchange of high-level visits and strengthen cooperation in transportation, energy, high-tech R&D and tourism, and expects that Chinese businesses will invest in Turkey and participate in Turkish development. Erdogan stressed that Turkey will continue to unswervingly follow the one-China policy.
Huang Ju started his formal visit to Turkey when he arrived at Ankara after his formal visit to Ireland the same day. Before leaving Ireland, Huang Ju went to Limerick and visited the Shannon Region of Ireland and the Dell Company (Ireland).
